Conductor, organist, harpsichordist and scholar John Butt has been music director of Edinburgh’s Dunedin Consort since 2003 as well as a guest conductor with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, The English Concert, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, among others. In the 2022/23 season John Butt will makes his Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra debut conducting Bach’s St Matthew Passion. In Kilkenny he is joined by Hugo Hymas, a celebrated young English tenor who has recently taken part in tours across Europe, USA and Asia, and also to Australia to perform the tenor solos in Purcell's King Arthur with the Gabrieli Consort.
