About Music in Kilkenny

Music in Kilkenny started out in 1990 as the Dame Alice Music Club, when it staged its first concert in Castle Blunden, a concert of music featuring Andrew Manze and Richard Egarr.  It began organising concert series in 1996 (as the Kilkenny Music Club) before settling eventually into its present incarnation (Music in Kilkenny) organising two seasons of concerts a year, from January to June and from September to December, comprising world-class performers from the classical, traditional, world music and jazz genres.  We strive to bring musical excellence to both the city and county of Kilkenny, featuring both Irish and international musicians.
